Michael Madsen got himself into trouble with the law today when he was arrested for driving under the influence.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed that someone saw the actor driving erratically on PCH just before 3 P.M. today and called the police.

The sheriff’s deputies arrived to see Madsen weaving through traffic in his red Pontiac GTO with flames down the side. They pulled him over and immediately smelled alcohol.

The actor was taken to jail by police officers in Malibu on Friday, arrested on felony charges of child endangerment and cruelty to a child.

Madsen was released on Saturday after he posted $100,000 bail.

A member of Michael’s family called 911 to the Malibu home the actor shares with wife Deanna and their three sons Hudson, 17, Calvin, 15, and seven-year-old Luke.

Michael’s lawyer Perry Wander revealed, “He found his son smoking pot and they got into an argument when he tried to take it away. It’s a family matter and Michael asks that his family’s privacy be respected.”
