LL Cool J Burglar Made Off With Broken Nose, Jaw, & Ribs

A transient charged with breaking into rapper LL Cool J’s home on Wednesday morning didn’t get what he bargained for when he left with only broken bones.

LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, told authorities he was upstairs in his home when he heard noises coming from the kitchen. He went downstairs to investigate when the burglar rushed towards him, which prompted the beat-down.

The homeless man, later identified as 56-year-old Jonathan Kirby, ended up with a broken nose, jaw and ribs. The rapper wasn’t injured and acted to protect his family.

LL Cool J Detains Burglary Suspect In His Home!

LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, nabbed a burglary suspect in his home in Studio City this morning!

The rapper/actor, who plays a special agent on the police drama “NCIS: Los Angeles”, took down a bad guy in real life after the man entered his home at around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.

LL Cool J detained the suspect until officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived to make the arrest.

The burglary suspect had a few bruises after the incident, according to police sources.

LL Cool J Hosting The Grammys!

Veteran rapper LL Cool J has been named the official host of the 2012 Grammy Awards.

The star has hosted the live Grammy nominations show since 2008 and will now host the awards ceremony.

In a statement, LL Cool J says, “I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night. I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”

The last host of the show was Queen Latifah in 2005. Other previous hosts include Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell.
