“Swamp People” Star Mitchell Guist Dead

Mitchell Guist, who stars with his brother Glenn on the History Channel’s show “Swamp People”, died this morning on the Belle River.

Sheriff Mike Waguespack said Mitchell was apparently loading something onto a boat around 9 a.m. when he slipped and fell. They believe he had suffered a seizure.

Insiders report someone attempted to perform CPR but Mitchell was pronounced dead at Teche Regional Hospital in Morgan City.

The Guist brothers were born, raised, and still live in the same house their grandparents once occupied on Conway Bayou. They hunt, trap and fish for their own food.

Mitchell had such a child-like quality and it’s sad to hear this news. This has to be hard on his brother Glenn with them being so close.
