“Superman Returns” star Brandon Routh has welcomed his first child into the world, after his wife Courtney Ford gave birth to a son on Friday.

Baby Leo James Routh was born on Friday, weighing in at a healthy 8 pounds and 20½ inches long.

Brandon and Courtney, who tied the knot in 2007, announced the pregnancy in March. The actor admitted, “It’s been so hard keeping the news to ourselves”.

Courtney revealed they lied about the pregnancy in the beginning while they tried to keep it a secret. She was thrilled when she could finally reveal the news to her “Parenthood” co-stars.
