American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, is giving back and working with a children’s hospice spending time with sick children because he doesn’t have children of his own. Read more on Simon Cowell’s involvement in the charity below.

Simon Cowell has always said he was “too selfish” to start his own family but has now become a part of Chase children’s hospice in Surrey, England because he enjoys spending time with the kids there.

Cowell admits he prefers talking with the children because he finds them more honest than adults.

He says, “The directness of these remarkable children is like a breath of fresh air. I often get a good grilling, although I find it a lot easier to talk to children than adults. If truth be told, I’m maybe just a big kid myself. Over the years I have grown incredibly close to some of the children, probably because I don’t have kids of my own.”

But Cowell says he has been emotionally affected by the tragic stories of the ill children.

He adds, “One little girl, a total sweetheart, was always winding me up by insisting we would be married one day. Sadly she recently died. It was terrible and confusing moment to learn that someone so young had passed away.”

Cowell is also urging U.K. politicians to provide more institutions to care for sick children: “The lack of government support is frustrating – and by becoming patron of Children Hospices U.K. I hope to bring pressure to bear at the very highest level. And I’m pretty good at persuading people.”

Danyl Johnson, a reading school teacher, has more than a million hits already on YouTube after his audition on the X-Factor on Saturday night.

Johnson, 28,  has been invited to fly to the U.S. to appear on “The Today Show”.

A source close Johnson stated: ‘The Today Show contacted him because they saw his audition and think he’s a real star. They want him on this week – and he thinks it’s an amazing opportunity.’

Simon Cowell was wowed by Danyl Johnson and hailed him as the best audition he had ever seen, after his audition performance of  The Beatles’ With A Little Help From My Friends.

Simon said, “Danyl, I’ve been doing this for eight, nine years, and that was single handedly the best first audition I’ve ever heard”.

“When we see a performance like that, it’s the absolute perfect audition. So exciting to be sitting here on this panel,” added judge Dannii Minogue.

“You’re a natural born performer and I will take you in my category right now,” Cheryl Cole told him.

Despite his success it has been revealed that the bisexual singer was struggling with a family rift, and had not spoken to his father Owen McCubbin for over a year.

But McCubbin was cheering his son on as he watched his performance on television. A tearful McCubbin, a former delivery driver, 51, said he had no idea his son had even auditioned for the show until last week.

Mr McCubbin, who separated from Mr Johnson’s mother Maria Burgess, 48, ten years ago, suffered a nervous breakdown last year.

McCubbin said his breakdown was a  ‘personal family matter’, but added: ‘I had a breakdown and was in hospital, but I’m better now. I really miss Danyl and would really like to see him when he has got time.

‘I was so proud when I saw Danyl on the television. I did shed a tear as he was singing.’

So will Danyl Johnson be the next Susan Boyle?

Former American Idol contestant called the “Glitter Girl”, Alexis Cohen, 25, who became known for her animated rant, was struck by a car and killed, the Associated Press reports. Read more on Alexis Cohen’s death and see her rant from American Idol below.

Alexis  Cohen, 25, was found dead Saturday around 4am in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

Two pedestrians found her body in the street and called the police.

An autopsy has indicated that Alexis Cohen suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Alexis Cohen auditioned in Philadelphia for American Idol in August 2007, and and then again in the eighth season of the show.

Alexis Cohen’s angry rant after not making the cut on AI became an internet sensation. Cohen is seen flipping Simon off and giving him a piece of her mind.

Susan Boyle awed the audience and judges of Britain’s Got Talent again Sunday night, and won her place in the show’s finale competition next Saturday. Read more on Susan Boyle and see her performance of “Memory” in the video below.

Susan Boyle, 48, performed the song “Memory” from the musical Cats, and received a standing ovation from the audience.

“You are one special lady, I have to say, you really are,”judge Simon Cowell said after her performance.

Cowell even apologized to Susan for underestimating her when she first auditioned in April.

“You know what, I just want to apologize because of the way we treated you before you sang the first time,” he said. “You made me and everyone else look very stupid and I’m very happy for you, very proud for you.”

Boyle’s look had changed quite a bit as well from her makeover. She wore a sparkly purple dress, attractive makeup and showed off nicely groomed eyebrows.

“What pressure?” she said, when asked after her performance if she had been nervous. “It was really good tonight, I really enjoyed it … I’m very happy to be here and thank you all for your support.”

Terri Seymour, the ex-girlfriend of American Idol judge Simon Cowell, was attacked by Janice Thibodeaux after the taping of American Idol Tuesday night. Read more on Terri Seymour’s attack below.

Terri Seymour was confronted at the Nokia Theatre complex by Janice Thibodeaux, 33, who attempted to choke her after asking if Seymour and Cowell were dating.

Seymour refused medical treatment and was escorted out of the complex by three L.A. police officers.

TMZ reports that Janice Thibodeaux, 33, who weighs 200 pounds, was arrested on felony battery charges and is being held on $52,700 bail.

Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour broke up in October after they started dating in 2002.

“It was Terri’s idea [to break up], not Simon’s,” Cowell’s rep said. “Simon is doing all right, but they were together a long time and so you can understand that it’s going to be a strange time.”

So what the hell was that about?

Internet sensation and stunning singer Susan Boyle went on Larry King Live and even got a date with Britain’s Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan.

During her interview, Boyle said she had “a few months” of singing lessons over a two-year span. Wow!

During the interview, Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan joined in the discussion, admitting that he and fellow judges Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell had judged “a book by its cover” as did the audience. Morgan even apologized to Susan. You can see Susan’s audition here.

Larry King said asked judge Piers Morgan if he thought, even without winning the contest, Susan Boyle should be able to get a contract right now. Morgan said that he sees a contract in her future, a #1 album, a world tour, and more.

Piers Morgan also commented on the “speed and breadth” of her success in going to “global super stardom” in just a few days.

Talk about a huge surprise! Britain’s Got Talent (British American Idol) had an awesome performance by a lady named Susan Boyle. You have to see this for yourself. Read more below to see video of Susan Boyle singing.

Susan Boyle is one of those people that remind us that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Boyle lives alone with her ten-year-old cat, says she has never been kissed, and is teased by kids in the street. But Boyle, 48, could be the UK’s next singing sensation.

Boyle sang the beautiful song “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Miserables.

Boyle now could win the show and the chance to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

Speaking to the media from her home in Blackburn, West Lothian, Miss Boyles says she was unfazed by the attention.

She said the success of Fauldhouse’s singing plumber, Andrew Muir,  last year was a driving force behind her audition at Glasgow’s SECC in January, which will be shown on ITV tonight.

“Andrew Muir was fantastic last year and somebody local going on a show like that definitely inspired me to go on,” she said.

“I like Elaine Paige as an artist and try to model myself on her, but it’s all just for fun. I love singing. It keeps me going.”

The audience and the judges initially chuckled at Susan Boyle when she told them she wanted to be a famous artist like Paige and gyrated her hips. But that all changed after her performance, with Simon Cowell describing her as “a little tiger” while Morgan called her the “biggest surprise I’ve had in three years of this show”.

Miss Boyle said she was “very relaxed” about the praise, adding: “It’s quite an accolade what Simon Cowell said and I didn’t really know what to expect. I just went and sang. It would be a dream to have a career in singing and to be on the Royal Variety Performance. I’m very pro-royal.

“I’m looking forward to watching the show, although I’ll probably be critical of any mistakes I see, but I’ll take it all in good fun. It’s only entertainment after all.”

Neighbors of Boyle’s talk about what a nice person she is and her lovely singing.

One said: “Susan has an amazing voice and is a really lovely person. We’re certainly not surprised she has done so well with her singing. She’ll definitely make the final and maybe even win it.

“Her voice is lovely and we’ll all be supporting her during the show. Hopefully this will stop kids making fun of her because I know it upsets her sometimes, even though she says it doesn’t.”

According to Simon Cowell’s Attorney, a tracking bug was found on his Rolls Royce.   His attorney released a statement last week stating that enough is enough.  Is the paparazi taking this too far?  Continue reading to find out more.

Law firm Carter-Ruck sent the warning letter to national newspapers on Friday after consulting with the presenter’s publicist, Max Clifford, who told MediaGuardian.co.uk that “enough is enough”.

According to Clifford, the letter pointed out that the use of a tracking device is illegal and could lead to prosecution.

Apparently they also know which journalist placed the tracking device on the Rollys Royce.

He added that the identity of the journalist who allegedly attached the device is known to him and the individual concerned has been approached.

“We now who he is and we have marked his card and told him to never do anything like that again,” Clifford said.

“We have always played the game and we are not precious but this is way beyond anything acceptable. So Carter-Ruck has sent a letter out to everybody warning them about this and making clear that it is unacceptable,” he added.

Jeesuz, this man must work for the CIA, lets not get carried away here. Give the guy some breathing room…

It appears as Terry Seymour and American Idol’s Simon Cowell have finally called it quits! Simon Cowell’s rep. confirmed the breakup saying:

“Terri phoned Simon and finished it in September, about six weeks ago,” says Cowell’s rep, Max Clifford. “They are going to remain close friends. Simon thinks the world of Terri and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.”

His rep added:

“In the past Terri has said that she wants kids but that just isn’t Simon. Nobody else is involved, certainly not on Simon’s side.”

“Why would I dump someone because of this? He’s my best friend and we make sure we get to spend time together when we can.”

That’s so cool eh? Sweet that Leona and Lou were childhood friends and now are together. Will there be a wedding for Leona Lewis and Lou in the future? Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
