Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

Paris Hilton wore her lingerie to meet her old BFF, Nicole Richie, for lunch. The paparazzi wrote that they still preferred Nicole. Clearly, showing less is more alluringly sexy than showing all minus the seductive aura. Paris and her sister Nicky lunched together with Nicole at the swanky Forte restaurant in Beverly Hills. Paris and Nicole had several relationship bumps but at this meeting, they behaved as though they were close friends.

Some people thought that this very public lunch affair was meant to dispel rumors that Paris was responsible for the sale of photographs that were taken during Nicole’s baby shower. Paris and Nicole’s sister, Sophia had hosted the grand baby shower for Nicole. Paris’ representative denied any wrong doing.

Nicole Richie and 90 friends and family members celebrated her upcoming birth at a whimsical Wizard of Oz-themed gala in Beverly Hills yesterday. We’ll be watching for details and photos of the shower to the hit the Net in the following days. The party was hosted by Nicole’s mom, Brenda, sister Sophia, and pals Paris Hilton and Marsha Gordon.

The baby celebration was organized by event planner extraordinaire, Mindy Weiss. Weiss has been the creative planner behind events for celebrities Shaunie & Shaquille O’Neal, Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey, Afton & Brendan Fraser, Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale, Jackie & Adam Sandler, Kimberly Williams & Brad Paisley, Kate Beckinsale & Len Wisman, as well as Heidi Klum & Seal.

According to In Touch magazine, Nicole’s good pal Samantha Ronson DJ’d the party and the menu included sushi, coconut shrimp, lobster, lemon-pepper chicken, and fruit and cake.

It’s been reported that gifts at the shower included a pair of $50 baby sneakers for a boy and a $50 Tummy T Jack maternity shirt with a picture of a boy on the front. Even though Nicole and Joel haven’t disclosed the sex of their bundle of joy due to arrive in January, these gifts leave us wondering if Joel will be announcing, “It’s a boy!”

Hollywood P.R. man, Robert Smith “wrote” The Nicole Richie Cookbook. It is a 60 page recipe book filled with Richie’s all time favorite recipes to brave the kitchen.

The book is empty. Nicole Richie’s recipes comprise nothing except eating air.

You can use this as a notebook to fill in with your real recipes or place it in a prominent position in your kitchen to remind you that eating nothing is the most effective kick ass weight loss program.

Richie might be less inclined to throw up her food since she has said she would gain weight for the sake junior. Some gossip sites have cast doubts on the fatherhood of the babe by calling the unborn, baby Richie, not baby Madden, the surname of her boyfriend singer from Good Charlotte.
