Oprah Winfrey, Osmond family

Oprah Winfrey is another talk show host who has carried on her TV show in spite of the writers’ strike. We had posted about Ellen DeGeneres‘ decision to continue her TV show here.

George Osmond, the father and patriarch of the Osmond family, passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. His family of nine children, fifty-five grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren has honored one of his last wishes. They traveled to Chicago to film an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. This episode is titled, “Oprah & The Osmonds”.

On the show, Marie Osmond told Oprah how much her father, George, loved his family and wanted them to be on Oprah’s show.

Donny Osmond talked to Oprah too. He praised his parents for raising them in show business and helping all of them to remain united as one big family.

Dancing with the Stars season 5

The fifth season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ begins tonight @ 8pm EST on ABC. The woman will be performing tonight while the men will be performing tomorrow night.

Taking to the dance floor tonight are “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” star JANE SEYMOUR, “The Cheetah Girls”‘ SABRINA BRYAN, model-actress JOSIE MARAN, TV personality/singer MARIE OSMOND, SPICE GIRLS singer MELANIE BROWN (aka Scary Spice) and “90210″ alum JENNIE GARTH.

Then, on Tuesday night, Abercrombie & Fitch cover model ALBERT REED, billionaire MARK CUBAN, music legend WAYNE NEWTON, boxer “Pretty Boy” FLOYD MAYWEATHER, two-time Indy 500 winner HELIO CASTRONEVES and “All My Children”’s CAMERON MATHISON will strut their stuff.

I’m thinking Helio and possibly Melanie Brown will do very well in the show.
