Harry Potter author, JK Rowling has won the copyright lawsuit over Harry Potter Lexicon.

JK Rowling has won her claim that a fan violated her copyright with plans to publish an A to Z of Harry Potter. A United States Judge ruled that the unauthorized guide could cause JK Rowling harm as a writer.

JK Rowling had filed the lawsuit against RDR Books, a Michigan-based company, last year over the Harry Potter Lexicon on the grounds that it copied huge parts of her books without adding any original material. Rowling called their project “wholesale theft of 17 years of my hard work”.

The author, Steve Vander Ark, who also runs the popular Harry Potter Lexicon website, wanted to publish the lexicon as a Harry Potter guide to be priced at about $24.95.

Judge Robert Patterson found that RDR Books had “failed to establish an affirmative defence of fair use”, and ruled that publication of the lexicon should be halted.

Jordan has sold more than 2 million books worth $34 million in 4 years. Her two autobiographies brought in $21.4 million. The latest chapter that related the birth of her daughter, Princess Tiaamii, has earned Jordan $5 million in its first 5 months of sales.

Jordan, 30, has made $6 million from her novels titles, “Angel” and “Crystal.” Her latest book is “Angel Uncovered” and it has become a hardcover bestseller in the UK. Katie Price did not write all her books herself. Her books sell based on the use of her name and association. The book seller and media have compiled the figures and declared that Jordan sold more than JK Rowling within the same time frame.

JK Rowling has announced that her book, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, will be published to raise money for children in residential institutions.

This news was announced on the birthdays of Harry Potter and JK Rowling, who turned 43 on July 31 st. Previously, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, was made into 7 copies. JK Rowling gave 6 copies away to the friends who supported her over her previous 17 years while the Harry Potter books were written. The 7^th copy was sold at a public auction and bought by Amazon.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be published on Dec. 4. There will be 3 different editions of the book, with different features.

JK Rowling was invited to Harvard University on Thursday, June 5. She gave a speech to inspire the graduates. She said that the new graduates should use their imagination for the greater good.

JK said that talents and opportunities came with responsibilities. She urged the students to exercise their capabilities for the under-privileged. Joan said that every person carried the power to change the world. She emphasized that people do not need magic as the magic came from within themselves. She reminded everyone of her personal background where she used her own power to come out of poverty.

On this occasion, JK Rowling was awarded an honorary doctor of letters degree at the graduation ceremony.

JK Rowling appeared at the South Banks Awards on Monday night to receive an award for outstanding achievement. It was in recognition of her success in the Harry Potter novels. The award was presented to her by Lord Melvyn Bragg, at the 12^th annual awards function, in Dorchester Hotel. Joan Rowling wore a shiny, multi-colored coat over her dress. Her coat attracted as much attention as her award.

Artic Monkeys’ “Favorite Worst Nightmare” album won in the pop music category. Ann-Marie Duff accepted the theater award for the production of Saint Joan.

The South Bank Awards Show will be on TV’s ITV1 on Feb. 3.

Rowling … A Year In The Life.” She was filmed re-entering her old flat, in which she conceived and wrote Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The apartment was like her lucky charm. Joan was so emotional that she burst into tears.

Joan said that her beginnings were a very hard life. Her visit to her past was full of ghosts. She admitted that she turned over a new leaf when she realized that her past life was full of messes. She felt liberated and sat down to write the first of the Harry Potter books.’

This documentary would appear on ITV1, on Sun., Dec. 30, at 7 pm, U.K. time zone.

Rowling was in the Harper Bazaar list for the top 20 best dressed women. She was voted as being even more stylish than the fashion model, Kate Moss.

Rowling also denied that she sued religious charities in India for using her trademark image of a castle in the Harry Porter books. It was Warner Bros who sued.

JK Rowling told her audience that sorcery and magic did not help a gay like Albus Dumbledore. He was troubled by his love for his arch rival, Gellert Grindelwald. Albus betrayed his love when he defeated Gellert.

Rowling is her own smart marketing PR. She has just aligned herself with the masses of gays world wide. As a matter of fact, one U.K. gay rights human activist, Peter Tatchell, immediately spoke up giving his approval of Rowling acknowledging the gays in community and fiction. This was quickly followed by another spokesman who praised Rowling for her admission. And so the cascading effects will carry on well until the next Rowling drama upstages this.

It should be noted that Rowling might have planned to upstage her character after the fact that her last sequel, “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows”, sold 11 million within its first 24 hours of launch. We can expect the 6^th movie, “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” to debut in Nov. 2008.
