According to a tax lien that was filed, the gold medalist owes the State of California $23,289.16 for tax returns from 2005 and 2006.

With all of Michael Phelps’ endorsement deals, he is said to be worth about $50 million dollars.

Phelps, 24, holds the record for the most gold medals won in single Olympics. Phelps won eight at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Hmm…maybe  Michael spent too much on ganga to pay his taxes?

Levi Johnston’s mother Sherry Johnston has been sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to a drug charge from her drug arrest last December. Read more on Sherry Johnston’s sentencing below.

Sherry Johnston’s attorney said she faces two years of actual incarceration. Two of her five years were suspended and she receives credit for the three months she already served. It’s possible she could serve her time at home with an ankle monitor.

Johnston will also have three years of probation.

Sherry Johnston, 43, was attempting to sell the powerful pain killer Oxycontin. She was charged in December with six felony drug counts. Police reported Sherry received the pills in the mail and sold them to police informants numerous times in October and November of 2008.

“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis reportedly pulled out of a court hearing on Friday because he is sick with an infection in Mexico. Read more on douche Joe Francis below.

Joe Francis was scheduled to appear before a judge in Panama City, Florida but his lawyer provided a doctor’s note to the judge and explained his client is in a Mexican hospital, fighting off an ear infection and a high fever.

Francis was supposed to appear on Friday to face up to a civil suit filed by four women in Florida that were filmed by Joe Francis when they were underage.

The civil suit is probably the least of Joe Francis’ legal woes as he is also in trouble with the IRS.  In addition Francis is being sued by a Las Vegas Casino for $2 million.

Sen. John Kerry’s daughter, Alexandra Kerry, has been arrested in Hollywood for driving while drunk. Read more on Alexandra Kerry’s arrest below.

Los Angeles police have stated that Alexandra Kerry, 36, was pulled over by police officers on in Hollywood at around 12:40 a.m. Thursday and she failed the sobriety test.

Officer Bruce Borihanh says Kerry was arrested and taken to the Hollywood police station and held for about five hours. Alexandra was released at around 5:30 this morning after she posted $5,000 bail.

Alexandra Kerry is the oldest daughter of the Massachusetts senator, John Kerry, who was the Democrats’ 2004 presidential nominee.

Alexandra has produced  several documentary films and has even had several acting roles.

The “Girls Gone Wild” founder is in big trouble with the IRS!  The Internal Revenue Service has put a lien against Joe Francis for $34 million they claim he owes. Read more on Joe Francis’ financial troubles below.

The IRS claim Joe Francis didn’t pay taxes in 2001, 2002, and 2003 and have put a lien against him for the money owed.

The lien comes just weeks after Francis agreed to a plea deal to escape jail in his federal tax evasion case. Joe Francis spoke to TMZ and said the IRS claim is confusing to him saying,  “I have no idea what it is,” and says he does not owe the money. He says, “This is total retaliation for me beating them in court.”

Joe Francis claims federal officials seized more than $100 million in cash accounts and says the IRS is forcing him to file for personal bankruptcy.

The past few years have been full of legal and financial problems for the “Girls Gone Wild” founder. Francis spent time in jail for contempt of court and was convicted on child abuse and prostitution charges. Francis was also accused of filming underage girls.

Then recently Francis was accused of assaulting Jayde Nicole in a nightclub. But Francis escaped charges after police reviewed the clubs surveillance tape of the incident and said Nicole appeared “to have acted without immediate provocation”.

In addition, Joe Francis reportedly failed to pay back a gambling debt and is also being sued by three former employees he said tried to embezzle money from him.

Edis Kayalar, the man charged with trying to extort Cindy Crawford for $100,000 has surrendered to police. Read more on the blackmailer below.

Edis Kayalar walked into a police station on Monday to surrender. Kayalar has been charged in Los Angeles with one count of extortion. If he is convicted, he could face up to two years in prison.

The United States has formally requested Kayalar’s extradition.

Edis Kayalar allegedly threatened to release a photo of former supermodel Cindy Crawford’s daughter gagged and tied to a chair when she was only 7 years old. Cindy Crawford’s daughter said that a former nanny took the picture as part of a “cops and robbers” game.

Kayalar will appear before a judge on Tuesday.

Jailed director Roman Polanski is preparing to offer a “very, very significant” amount of money for bail, according to Polanski’s lawyer. Read more on Polanski below.

Polanksi was arrested in Switzerland in September at the request of Los Angeles police, who want to extradite him to the United States to face sentencing over his assault on a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

Roman Polanski fled to France in 1978 before he could receive his punishment for the crime and has never returned to the U.S.

Polanski’s victim, Samantha Gemier, wants the charges dropped as it has disrupted her life.

The director has been refused bail twice over concerns he is a “flight risk”.  But Polanski’s lawyers are set to make a new bail offer today.  Roman Polanski’s lawyer, Herve Temime, told a French radio station that the offer will be “very, very significant” and his client will not be “like a fugitive” if he was released from custody.

Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis is hitting back at Playboy Playmate Jayde Nicole, countersuing her for the nightclub incident in which Francis accuses Jayde of threatening to kill him. Read more on Francis’ countersuit below.

Joe Francis and Jayde Nicole had a nasty altercation back in July at  LA’s Guys & Dolls club, when Brody Jenner’s girlfriend Jayde reportedly suffered a “black eye, swollen face, bruised ribs” and other injuries in the incident.

Jayde Nicole filed a $1 million lawsuit against Joe Francis earlier this month claiming she suffered “utter emotional distress and humiliation” as a result of the incident.

Joe Francis is striking back at her allegations stating that Nicole “an absolute and total liar” . And now Francis is filing his own lawsuit saying Jayde Nicole was so threatening that he feared for his life. We’re sure 115 lb Jayde is really scary!

In the legal documents Francis said he was innocently walking through the crowd at club when Nicole hit him in the head and threw a drink on him, shouting, “I’m going to kill you!”

Joe said he was “startled and shocked” and was afraid he’d be hit again when he allegedly saw Jayde reach for a bottle.

Francis said he reacted by grabbing her hair “in self-defense” stating he was “in fear and apprehension of being struck a third time and that Nicole was going to carry out her threat to kill him”.

Francis does admit that Nicole fell to the ground, but claims she “lost her balance on her high heels”.  Francis also accuses Hills star Brody Jenner of attacking him later that night “in a jealous rage”.

Joe Francis wants compensation for battery, assault, negligence, slander, libel and false light, after Nicole and Jenner allegedly lied to the press about the incident.

Los Angeles police are investigating the matter and going over surveillance video of the clash to see who is at fault.

A South American opera singer named Gabriela Pochinki faces charges today after acting up in an Upper West Side restaurant. Read more on Gabriela Pochinki’s naughty behavior below.

Gabriela Pochinki will face charges today including trespassing, theft of service, and disorderly conduct stemming from her bahavior in a restaurant.

The problems began when diners at Nice Matin complained that soprano Gabriela Pochinki having a loud conversation via speakerphone on her cell phone. The manager approached Pochinki to discuss the matter and Pochinki copped an attitude.

Jeanette Josue says Pochinki waved her away, saying, “Get out of here. I’m not leaving.” And when Josue was forced to return a fourth time, Pochinki “really shoved her. She pushed her away, even as she turned away,” the employee told the Daily News. And the whole ordeal was actually caught on camera.

Then Gabriela Pochinki said she was not going to pay her $34 tab, and police were called to the scene. An NYPD source tells the Post, “She became unreasonably noisy.”

Pochinki’s business manager cannot believe it because “she’s such a sweet person. I don’t know what could have happened. She doesn’t drink; she doesn’t smoke. She’s the most peaceful person you’ll ever meet.”
