Billie Piper and her bridegroom, Laurence Fox, wore matching, ankle length winter coats on their wedding day. It was a good thing too as Billie’s white wedding dress got weighed down by the coat and appeared to have slipped somewhat. The coat helped to prevent a wardrobe malfunction photo taking opportunity. Their wedding ceremony was a low key affair in a village church in West Sussex on New Year’s Eve.

Billie’s former co-stars from her TV series, Dr. Who, turned up. Her ex-husband, Chris Evans, and his new wife, Natasha Shishmanian, also came. There were about 400 curious on-lookers. The guests were instructed to keep the venue a secret but the secret was leaked. Only those with invitations were allowed inside the church to witness the wedding.

Billie Piper and her family want to ban children from her wedding ceremony and party. It caused a minor scandal. Her bridegroom, Laurence Fox, and his family were hopping mad over her decision. Her wedding was scheduled on New Year’s Eve. The official reason given was that the wedding event was a long one and would be continued into the night. Children would not have the stamina to endure so many hours away from home and might misbehave.

Billie was said to have requested police security because she did not want paparazzi to gatecrash and shoot unauthorized pictures. The Fox families are in the entertainment industry and disapprove of publicity in their private lives.

Billie Piper and Laurence Fox are planning to celebrate their wedding in Billie’s ex-husband’s pub.

The ‘Doctor Who’ actress is ready to wed her fiancé in a romantic December 31 wedding at St. Mary’s Church in Midhurst, West Sussex, before heading to local pub, The Lickfold Inn for the reception. The bar just happens to be owned by Billie’s former hubbie, British TV and radio star Chris Evans.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “Some people might see this as a publicity stunt, but Billie genuinely wants to celebrate her special day with Chris there. She knows Chris will make sure her and Laurence are waited on hand and foot and have the best possible wedding reception they can have – that’s why she chose to have it there.”

Billie met her current beau while starring with him in the London play “Treats” earlier this year.
