“Teen Mom 2″ star Leah Messer is leaving the show after five seasons, confirmed the news on Twitter today.
Insiders reveal her ex-husband Corey Simms’ custody filing is the main reason for her departure. She was also recently accused of cheating on her current husband.
Messer, 22, broke the news while responding to a tweet from a fan. A follower asked the next season of Teen Mom 2, writing, “Are you doing season 6?” Leah responded by simply writing, “No”.
A source reveals Corey’s custody filing is what prompted her to quit.
An insider said, “Leah’s final court date is coming up, and her behavior on the show made her look really bad to the judge”.
During an episode of the show earlier this year, Leah was prescribed medication for her anxiety issues. It appeared she was taking way too much and was shown appearing to nearly fall asleep and slurring her words.
Leah and Corey’s daughter, Ali, the twin of Aleeah, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy last year. Although she is currently able to walk around, she will eventually be restricted to a wheel chair.
One of Messer’s friends stated, “Leah’s daughters are her number one priority. Now that the show could lead her to lose custody, she’s ready to leave her reality TV life behind.”
Corey filed for custody of his twin daughters in September, apparently worried if Leah was caring for them properly.
One of Leah’s friends claims, “A few months ago, Leah asked Corey for more money, and it really pissed him off. To get back at her, he asked for full custody of Ali and Aleeah — and used her recent prescription-medication use as grounds as well. She couldn’t believe that Corey would stoop so low, especially since he knows that she’s a good mom”.
The drug abuse allegations aren’t the only drama in Leah’s life. She was accused of cheating on her current husband, Jeremy Calvert, with a former flame named Robbie. You may remember this is the same dude she cheated on Corey Simms with previously.
Leah and Jeremy appear to be heading for divorce.
Another “Teen Mom 2″ star, Jenelle Evans, appeared to diss Leah’s decision to leave the show.
Jenelle tweeted, “We r on the show to share our struggles, not hide them. Thanks for everyone’s support over the years! Love u guys!”
Leah’s departure from the show makes fans wonder if the show will continue now.
