Emily Maynard had no luck finding the right guy for her on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”, but has now found true love!
Maynard, who lost her former fiance and father of her daughter Ricki in a plane crash in 2004, is celebrating after her beau Tyler proposed on January 4, 2014.
Tyler arranged a romantic proposal for Emily by decorating her Charlotte home with flowers and candles. Tyler asked both Emily’s father and Ricki’s paternal grandparents for permission before he proposed.
Emily Maynard obviously said yes, stating, “We’re really excited!! He proposed to me at home and gave both Ricki and me rings. It was so sweet! Ricki loves him more than she likes me!”
An insider said of the reality star, “She was crying. She’s super happy. He’s her best friend. And Ricki absolutely loves him. She adores him. Emily is over the moon.”
Emily Maynard met Tyler at church last year and the relationship became serious very quickly.
Emily hasn’t spoken publicly about the engagement, but hinted at big news in her blog post on Tuesday. She wrote, “Does anyone remember the show on Vh1 called “Best Week Ever”? It may still be on.. I quit watching now that Flavor of Love isn’t on anymore. Don’t judge.
“Anyway, all week I can’t help but hear that crazy guy scream, “Emily Maynard is having the BEST YEAR EVER!” over and over in my head. Crazy? Absolutely. True? Every bit. Seriously, we’re only a week into 2014 and it has already been one of my best yet! More on that on another day (sic).”
Emily suffered the loss of fiance Ricky Hendricks, the father of her young daughter. She was briefly engaged to Brad Womack after he popped the question on The Bachelor. She then accepted a proposal from Jef Holm on the season finale of The Bachelorette, which aired in July 2012, but they split up that October.
