Tom Cruise has claimed that starring in his Hollywood action films is as “brutal” as going to war in Afghanistan.

Oh no he didn’t! And at the worst time possible as we’re celebrating those that have served in the military on Veteran’s Day this Monday.

The 51-year-old compared his grueling filming schedule to serving tours in Afghanistan in a court deposition.

Tom Cruise said, “That’s what it feels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal.”

The statements were part of Cruise’s deposition in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against Life & Style and In Touch for claiming he’d abandoned his daughter Suri Cruise.

During the proceedings it was revealed that the actor’s lawyers compared his time on movie sets to serving in Afghanistan.

Cruise affirmed the claim, saying, “I didn’t hear the Afghanistan [part], but that’s what it feels like, and certainly on this last movie [Edge Of Tomorrow], it was brutal. It was brutal.”

What the hell?

In the court documents, Cruise is also sure to anger Olympic athletes.

The actor explained, “There is difficult physical stamina and preparation. Sometimes I’ve spent months, a year, and sometimes two years preparing for a single film. A sprinter for the Olympics, they only have to run two races a day. When I’m shooting, I could potentially have to run 30, 40 races a day, day after day.”

Cruise also spoke about his seven-year-old daughter Suri, his child with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

He said he didn’t abandon her [Suri] emotionally, physically or otherwise’ despite claims that he had not seen his daughter for 100 days after his split with Katie.

The deposition also shed light on the reason for Tom and Katie’s divorce, which is exactly what we all thought. Katie left Tom to break away from Scientology.

Attorneys asked Tom Cruise, “Ms. Holmes has never indicated in any way that was one of the reasons she left you?…To protect Suri from Scientology?”

Tom stated, “Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes.” But adds, “There were many other aspects to the divorce.”

Cruise amended the statement with a court filing on Tuesday, stating, “Katie has never told me that [Scientology] was a reason for our divorce.”
