Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish Cyrus, has filed for divorce to end her marriage of 19 years with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
Tish’s move comes 3 years after the “Achy Breaky Heart” star filed himself, later dropping it to attempt to get his family back together.
Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus have been married for 19 years and have five children.
Tish filed legal documents to divorce her husband on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences. She is asking for primary custody of their daughter, Noah, 13, as well as spousal support.
Miley’s mom issued a statement saying, “This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
Billy Ray issued his own statement, after filing his own paperwork in Nashville, stating, “This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
The first time Billy Ray filed for divorce back in 2010, he claimed Miley’s fame had compromised their family.
Tish and Billy Ray got back together a year later. At that time he said, “I’ve dropped the divorce. Things are the best they’ve ever been. I feel like I got my Miley back in a way. I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened.”
Billy Ray Cyrus has kept quiet about his marital issues, but we’re betting he is very unhappy with Miley’s recent antics after going all “faux gangsta”.
Miley Cyrus sent an angry tweet to her 51-year-old father on Thursday saying, “Since your texts and email obviously aren’t working would you like to talk like this.”
Miley has been having love problems of her own in recent months. Miley was rumored to have been dumped by her Australian actor fiance, Liam Hemsworth, something she denies.
