A man named Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was arrested on Friday morning in Georgia, nearly eight months after the death of singer Usher’s former stepson Kile Glover.
Hubbard was indicted on a slew of charges in the death of 11-year-old Glover that include Homicide by Vessel, Serious Injury by Vessel, and Reckless Operation of a Vessel.
Kile Glover, the son of Tameka Foster and former stepson of Usher, was struck in July 2012 while on an inflatable raft by a jet ski operated by Jeffrey Hubbard.
The young boy was hit in the head by the jet ski by a family friend, Jeffrey Hubbard, while riding on an inner tube with an unidentified 15-year-old girl. She was treated for minor injuries.
Kile was in a coma for ten days before being removed from life support after failing to regain consciousness due to his severe brain injuries.
Police report alcohol was not a factor in the tragic accident.
The investigation into Kile’s death had been ongoing since his death and a grand jury indicted Hubbard on Thursday.
Kile’s mother, Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond, has vowed to make certain her son didn’t die in vain.
Tameka Raymond was at the State Capitol recently to propose “Kile’s Law” that improves boat safety. She documented the journey on Instagram, writing, “I won’t stop. Nope! My best friend and favorite person will never be forgotten #kileslaw.”
