Kim Kardashian and her estranged husband Kris Humphries are embroiled in a nasty divorce battle, with the basketball star claiming Kim only married him for publicity.

The 32-year-old reality star sat through a nine-hour divorce deposition at her lawyer’s office on Tuesday.

Kim testified under oath that she really did love Kris Humphries when she accepted his marriage proposal, even though the marriage ended in 72 days.

Kardashian, accompanied by her lawyer Laura Wasser, insisted that her reality show “played no part in her decision to tie the knot”.

Lee Hutton, the lawyer representing Kris throughout the divorce proceedings, was probing for evidence to prove that Kim married the basketball star to boost ratings to try and prove she “defrauded” him.

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on October 31, 2011, citing irreconcilable differences after just 72 days of marriage.

The case will go to trial on May 6, after Kris refused to grant her a divorce because he wants an annulment.

The court case gives Kim a chance to obtain her divorce before the birth of her first child with rapper boyfriend Kanye West, which is due in July.

Court documents leaked last week that revealed a producer on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” reality show admitted Kris’ proposal were re-shot because Kim wasn’t happy with her reaction.

Russell Jay stated, “I remember, like, Kim – she didn’t know he was going to propose at that moment. And she came in and she was completely surprised, and I think she had a bad reaction or something and she was embarrassed.

“So she said can we just, like, have me come back in one more time and be, like, really surprised. Because she had no idea it was going to happen. It was in her bedroom.”

The re-staging of her proposal definitely seems shallow, but does it prove she only married for good ratings?
