UPDATE Sadly, Lauren Block has passed away after her head injury.
A 22-year-old stripper named Lauren Block is fighting for her life after falling head first off a 15-foot balcony while performing a lap dance.
Lauren Block’s family released a statement through the MetroHealth Medical Center, confirming the news and noting that Block’s organs will be donated.
“We would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support and prayers for Lauren. She has passed away but is an organ donor, and we hope this will enable her to save many lives and live on through others,” the statement read. “We know that she’s in God’s hands.”
The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday at just before 1 a.m. at Christie’s Cabaret in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lauren Block was giving a private lap dance to Pasquale Storino, 25, on the second floor of the nightclub just before her fall.
Cleveland police said, “He (Storino) stated that she grabbed the rail, as he was facing away from the balcony, and she tried to complete some sort of dance jump/dance move, and accidentally went head first over the rail”.
Eyewitnesses described seeing Block lying motionless on the ground below the balcony, with her face covered in blood. She was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition with a severe head injury.
Two unidentified men were spotted fleeing the scene, but police don’t believe there was foul play involved at this time.
Another report suggests the stripper fell down a huge flight of stairs.
