Most women dream of getting married and having children, but these days many are opting to go it on their own! Female celebrities have made the decision to adopt or use a sperm donor to have a child on their own.

Gorgeous actress Charlize Theron became a single mom in March of 2012, when she adopted her son Jackson.
Theron said she’d always wanted to adopt, even writing a letter to her mother at the age of 8, saying, “take me to an orphanage, so that I can go and adopt a baby.”
Denise Richards already had two daughters, Sam and Lola, with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen. But she chose to adopt as a single mother in 2001.
Richards adopted a baby girl name Eloise, named after her mother Eloise Joni Richards that died of cancer in 2007.
“American Horror Story” star Connie Britton became a mother in 2011 when she adopted a son Yoby from Ethiopia.
The 44-year-old actress explained her thinking as, “What am I waiting for? I wasn’t in a relationship at the time, but I thought, ‘This is something I want to do. I can do it.’”
Former “Sex in the City” star Kristin Davis adopted a baby girl, Gemma Rose, in 2011.
The 47-year-old actress said, “I had always thought in the back of my head that I would adopt — that it was a possibility. So I started the process … but it’s quite confusing. There are all these different rules and if you’re single it’s harder.”
Calista Flockheart adopted son Liam on her own in 2001 as an infant, later dating and marrying actor Harrison Ford.
Actress Diane Keaton adopted children at the age of 50!
Keaton adopted daughter Dexter in 1996 and son Duke in 2001. Keaton decided to become a mother at the age of 50 after the death of her father. The actress said of having children, “Motherhood has completely changed me. It’s just about the most completely humbling experience that I’ve ever had.”
Edie Falco adopted her son Anderson in 2005 and went on to adopt a daughter, Macy, in 2008.
The former “Sopranos” star said, “At that time I was single and the idea to adopt came to me. I just knew at a certain point it was time to raise kids.”
Meg Ryan adopted daughter Daisy True on her own from China in 2006.
Ryan is now reportedly dating singer John Mellencamp.
Angelina Jolie became a mother in 2002, after adopting seven-month-old Maddox Chivan, from an orphanage in Cambodia.

Sheryl Crow adopted son Wyatt on her own in 2007, and later adopted a son Levi in 2010.
Actress Penelope Cruz’s sister, Monica Cruz, decided to have a baby with the help of a sperm donor.
