Justin’s pal, rapper Lil’ Twist, was actually behind the wheel of Bieber’s white Ferrari at the time of the tragic incident.
Rapper Lil’ Twist, 19, had been partying with Justin Bieber, 18, at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills.
The California Highway Patrol pulled over Bieber’s white Ferrari around 6 p.m. Tuesday on the 405 Freeway, when 29-year-old paparazzo Chris Guerra arrived to take photos.
Guerra crossed the street to take pictures but was told by officers to return to his car. The man didn’t look as he crossed the roadway and was struck by an SUV.
Guerra was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Insiders report that Guerra had been tailing Justin Bieber all day, stating he saw Bieber smoking weed in a pipe while he was behind the wheel of his Ferrari earlier that day.
Justin had been partying with Lil’ Twist for weeks and spent New Year’s Eve in Mexico, enjoying being able to drink with being over their legal drinking age in the country.
Bieber issued a statement on the tragedy, saying, “While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
