Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry and her baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry have now become embroiled in an investigation by CPS, following the brawl between Gabriel and Halle’s fiance Olivier Martinez during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Los Angeles County Department of Child Protection services will be formally re-opening an abuse investigation involving the four-year-old child because she was present during the violent altercation.
Little Nahla wasn’t involved in the brawl and was taken out of the home by her mother Halle as the fight began, but CPS was contacted due to the history of physical abuse.
A source revealed, “Social workers will be interviewing Halle, Gabriel and Olivier about what happened on Thanksgiving. DCFS must ensure that Nahla’s environment is safe.”
Earlier this year, Aubry was accused of pushing Halle’s nanny while Nahla was in her arms but there was not sufficient evidence to file charges against the model.
Halle has been spotted out and about after the Thanksgiving Day brawl looking very strained after both men were hospitalized.
Aubry was charged with battery and an emergency restraining order banned him from coming within 100 yards of Halle, Martinez or his four-year-old daughter Nahla.
The emergency protective order will be lifted on Tuesday, but Halle Berry plans to have her attorney’s rush through a permanent order this week.
Halle stepped out on Friday to take her daughter to see a live performance of Yo Gabba Gabba in Hollywood, but took four police guards on motorcycles with her for the outing.
Gabriel Aubry is now facing not being able to see his young daughter if the restraining order is awarded.
A source stated, “If Gabriel can’t control himself enough to protect Nahla from emotional trauma, it’s too risky for him to be around the child, Halle, or her fiance.’
Gabriel is hoping the charges will be dropped once “the truth comes out”.
A source close to the hunky model revealed, “Gabriel is extremely concerned about his arrest and the fallout this could have on Nahla. She is his entire world and is hopeful that once the truth comes out, he won’t be formally charged with any crime.”
Aubry and Berry, 46, have been involved in a bitter custody battle ever since their split in 2010.
