Annie Lennox stated that she would never marry again but is apparently singing a different tune these days.
The singer has married for the third time to Dr. Mitch Besser in London.
The couple tied to knot during a private boat ceremony on the River Thames last Saturday.
Lennox and Besser met in 2009 after the former Eurythmics star got involved with the gynecologist’s charity, mothers2mothers, an Africa-based organization dedicated to children and mothers with Aids.
At that time, Besser was still married. His wife of 28 years, Debra Jackson filed for divorce just last year after photos of her husband and Annie Lennox holding hands went public.
Lennox’s daughters, Lola, 22, and Taili, 19, served as bridesmaids during the ceremony.
The wedding ceremony took place in London with guests including Oscar winner Colin Firth and comic Ruby Wax.
Lennox’s first marriage to German Hare Krishna devotee Radha Ramen in 1984 that ended quickly.
Her second marriage to Israeli film and record producer Uri Frutmann resulted in two daughters before they divorced in 2000.
Annie said she never would marry again but has had a change of plans.
Lennox is a committed activist, raising money and awareness for HIV charities.
