Scottish soul singer Emeli Sande is a married woman after exchanging vows with her longtime boyfriend in his native Montenegro on Saturda.
The singer tied the knot with marine biologist Adam Gouraguine, who she has dated for seven years, in an intimate ceremony in the exclusive marina Porto Montenegro.
Sande plans to take her husband’s last name and she intends on learning more about his family’s culture.
In a recent interview, Emeli stated, “I want to be the part of his life and his family, so I want to add his surname. I would also love to have a Montenegrin passport. I want to be part of his tradition.
“I grew up in a family of two different cultural backgrounds, so I embraced both. One day when we have kids, I’d like them to be the part of these two different cultures.”
Emeli Sande, who was the only star to perform at the London Olympics Opening and Closing ceremonies, has been very busy performing even right before her wedding day.
The singer did a free show for locals at a nightclub in Kotor on Friday night.
Emeli’s father Joel confirmed that he was heading off on a four-hour flight to give away his daughter’s hand in marriage.
Joel Sande was quoted telling The Press and Journal, “Here’s hoping everything goes to plan. It’s been a great roller-coaster year to date and this can only make my baby’s dream a more realistic version of her events.”
