Rapper Young Buck has checked into prison to begin his 18-month sentence for gun possession.
The former G-Unit rapper was arrested in 2010 after authorities found a gun during a raid on his Tennessee home to repossess property over his $300,000 he owed in unpaid taxes.
Buck, who is a convicted felon banned from owning a weapon, faces up to 10 years behind bars for the offense, but he reached a plea deal with prosecutors to serve less than two years in prison.
Young Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, was officially sentenced in July and had until August 13 to turn himself in to start his jail term.
Buck began his prison sentence early, reporting to Yazoo City Medium Security Federal Prison in Southern Mississippi today.
