Bill and Giuliana Rancic are first-time parents after their son arrived yesterday.
Baby Edward Duke Rancic was born at 10:12 p.m. in Denver, Colorado by a gestational surrogate, meaning Bill and Giuliana are his biological parents. The baby weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and measured 20 inches in length.
The newborn’s umbilical cord was cut by Bill and Giuliana got to hold him first.
Giuliana, 37, said of her newborn son, “Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already.”
Bill later tweeted, “The ‘Duke’ has landed! Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!( sic)”
Giuliana battled breast cancer and had a double mastectomy on her road to having a baby.
In April, after years of infertility and IVF treatments, they announced they were expecting a baby via a surrogate.
Bill, 41, previously said, “Our Journey has a happy ending. We didn’t give up, we didn’t quit and we’re going to have a good ending to this.”
Congrats to the couple on their bundle of joy! Little “Duke” arrived just in time for Bill and Giuliana Rancic’s fifth wedding anniversary on September 1st!
