Tony Martin, the handsome singer popular in movie musicals, has passed away at age 98.
Martin died of natural causes Friday evening at his West Los Angeles home, his friend and accountant Beverly Scott said Monday.
Martin had a rich baritone voice and had hit songs such as “I Get Ideas”, “To Each His Own” and “There’s No Tomorrow”.
Tony may have never become a major movie star, but he was featured in 25 films during the heyday of Hollywood musicals. The tall and handsome actor often played the romantic lead in movies.
Martin was married twice, to fellow singers Alice Faye and Cyd Charisse, who he was married to for over 60 years until her death in 2008.
He is survived by stepson Nico Charisse.
