The 36-year-old aspiring filmmaker reportedly overdosed on pills but his death is believed to have been accidental.
Actor Sylvester Stallone, 66, who was at the Comic Con film convention in San Diego yesterday, is “devastated”.
Sage’s body was reportedly discovered by a maid, who called 911.
Sage was said to live like a hermit and his home was full of cigarette butts, beer cans, and food. Stallone had been dead for several days, maybe even a week.
Authorities said there were no signs of forced entry and no suicide note. But prescription drugs were found.
“There are some prescription bottles, however I’m not going to detail what they are or how many,” Los Angeles County Assistant Coroner Ed Winter stated.
Sage Stallone’s longtime attorney George Braunstein said his client didn’t seem depressed and said “everything was up and positive.”
Braunstein revealed, “He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects. He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.”
Sage Stallone played Rocky Balboa’s onscreen son in “Rocky 5” in 1990. He also appeared in the film “Daylight” with his father Sylvester Stallone.
Sylvester Stallone’s publicist Michelle Bega told the Associated Press that the actor is “devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son.”
“His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha,” Bega said in a statement.
