Santa Monica police report there were no serious injuries in the accident that sent actress Lindsay Lohan and her assistant to the hospital.
Lohan’s Porsche reportedly collided with a dump truck Friday morning on Pacific Coast Highway.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles were driving northbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the Porsche struck the rear end of the dump truck. Cause of the accident is under investigation,” the department said in a statement.
Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis said there was no sign Lohan or the truck driver were under the influence during the incident.
The accident happened at around 11:40 a.m. while Lindsay was on her way to film scenes for the Lifetime movie “Liz and Dick”, the film about the love affair between the late Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
Lohan’s publicist Steve Honig said the actress was released about two hours after the accident and was returned to the set to continue filming.
