Phillip Phillips was revealed as the new “American Idol.”

Phillips beat out 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez on tonight’s Season 11 finale, with a record-breaking 132 million votes cast.

The 21-year-old became emotional while performing his winning song “Home” as confetti drifted down around him.

Phillips, a pawn shop worker from Georgia, couldn’t even complete his son as he walked off the stage to hug his family in the audience.

Tonight’s two-hour finale show featured celebrities such as Rihanna, Chaka Kahn, Neil Diamond, and Reba McEntire.

The show featured a tribute to honor the late Bee Gee’s singer Robin Gibbs, who recently passed away of cancer.

“American Idol” season five finalist Ace Young proposed to the third season runner-up Diana DeGarmo, who said yes!
