A representative for Marilyn Manson has dismissed reports suggesting he is engaged to actress Seraphim Ward.
Manson reportedly proposed to his girlfriend of just five weeks on Thursday night and Ward appeared to confirm the news on Sunday by posting an image of a new ring on Twitter.com, accompanied by the note, “I am still speechless and in shock!”
The ring was alleged to have been a family heirloom and the twitter photo of the “engagement ring” appeared to come right off of Amazon.
The rep for Seraphim stated, “Seraphim has recently made a life commitment to her partner and couldn’t be happier!”
But, Manson’s rep shot down the engagement rumors, stating, “This is untrue. He has never met this woman.”
Ward’s manager, Jonathan Shelton issued a statement saying, “Seraphim is not engaged to Marilyn, she is happily engaged to Pogo, who created Marilyn Manson.”
Pogo, who is better known as Madonna Wayne Gacy, is Manson’s former keyboard player.
