Rocker Frank Zappa’s longtime bassist Roy Estrada has been sentenced to serve 25 years in prison for child abuse.
The 68-year-old musician, who previously served jail time in California for committing a lewd act with a child, is back in the slammer in Texas for molesting a female family member under the age of 14 for an extended amount of time.
Tarrant County spokeswoman, Melody McDonald, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper, “The victim’s family was unaware that he was a convicted sex offender… Estrada was sentenced to 25 years in a plea bargain agreement and is not eligible for parole. He will be 93 years old before he is released from prison.”
Estrada, who was a member of Frank Zappa’s band the Mothers of Invention, is also a founding member of rockers Little Feat.
