Seal, who issued a statement with wife Heidi Klum yesterday about their split, opened up about the divorce to PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley today.
The singer stated that “the break-up will not be nasty as they are not those kind of people.”
Seal was very serious during his interview but said he felt comfortable talking to Tavis because he respected the way he had always conducted himself.
Seal, who was still wearing his wedding ring, said that they will remain civil and will always love and respect each other.
He stated that “their love hasn’t changed at all” but that it’s a difficult time for him.
In Seal’s interview with Smiley, which airs on Friday, he adds that, “What one has to do in this situation is to remain civil, to retain one’s dignity, to be professional, and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that are going through this.”
