John Mellencamp and his wife Elaine have split after 20 years of marriage.

A rep for the singer confirms John, 59, and his model wife Elaine Irwin Mellencamp have gone their separate ways.

Mellencamp’s rep Bob Merlis declined to say if they had filed for divorce.

The former couple issued a statement saying they, “are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family.”
