Ronnie James Dio Battling Stomach Cancer
Singer Ronnie James Dio is battling stomach cancer but showing some signs of improvement in his treatment. Read more on the singer’s health below.
Ronnie James Dio, the former member of Black Sabbath and singer for Heaven & Hell, is doing well in his cancer treatment. His doctors have discovered his tumor has decreased in size.
The singer was diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer in November 2009 and immediately started treatmentat the Mayo Clinic.
Ronnie James Dio’s health crisis caused his current band Heaven & Hell to scrap their European dates last year.
Dio’s wife and manager Wendy recently posted an online update on his cancer battle saying:
“It has been Ronnie’s 7th chemo, another cat scan and another endoscopy, and the results are good – the main tumor has shrunk considerably, and our visits to Houston (cancer clinic in Texas) are now every three weeks instead of every two weeks.”
