Actress Drea de Matteo will be leaving the Desperate Housewives show in May.

Recent reports claimed that Drea de Matteo didn’t actually ‘click’ with the main cast but the show’s creator Cherry said that rumor is untrue.

“When I heard that stuff, I was stunned,” he said. “We adore her. She is the sweetest gal in the world.”

Cherry explained that de Matteo is leaving the show in order to spend more time with her family.

“Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season,” said Cherry. “She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York.”

Drea’s character on Desperate Housewives, Angie, and her family have been really mysterious.  Some episodes have suggested they are on the run and had to change their names.

Rumors have suggested that the introduction of John Barrowman’s character will be the one to end Angie.

Cherry has  promised “an explosive finale” where “all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed”.
