Los Angeles Coroner Reveals No Illegal Drugs Were Found In Brittany Murphy’s Body
The Los Angeles County coroner has released new details on the death of actress Brittany Murphy. Read more on what the coroner had to say below.
Brittany Murphy’s cause of death was pneumonia, but other conditions that contributed to her death included iron deficiency anemia and drug intoxication.
The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner report stated: “Multiple medications were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, acetaminophen and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present.
“It should be noted that the pattern of use of these medications suggests treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone are components of Vicodin. Chlorphenarimine is the active ingredient in some over-the-counter medications. L-methamphetamine is a component of some inhalers.
It should be noted that L-methamphetamine is not an illegal drug.”
The coroner said the the the street version of methamphetamine nor “any other illegal drug” was found in the actresses body.
“The possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state. Therefore the manner of death is Accident,” the coroner also noted.
