Miss England Rachel Christie Relinquishes Crown After Bar Fight With Sara Beverley Jones

Miss England Rachel Christie has given up her crown after a nasty fight in a bar with another beauty contestant, Sara Beverley Jones. Read more on Miss England’s beauty queen brawl below.

Rachel Christie has given up her crown after she was arrested for a nightclub assault. Rachel said she wanted to concentrate now on clearing her name.

Miss England reportedly punched Miss Manchester, Sara Beverley Jones, in the face during the altercation in the Manchester nightclub.

Rachel Christie was the first black woman to be crowned Miss England.

Christie is the niece of former sprinter Linford Christie and is herself a heptathlete hoping to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Miss Manchester was punched in the face after an argument that was about TV personality from Sky1’s Gladiators program named David McIntosh “Tornado”.

Sara Beverley Jones is “Tornado’s ex-girlfriend and Rachel Christie is his current girlfriend.

In a statement, Miss England organizers said: “Due to the media attention following the allegations against her, Rachel Christie has now decided to withdraw from the Miss World competition and relinquish her Miss England crown.

“Rachel will concentrate on clearing her name and focus on training for the 2012 Olympics until this case is resolved.”

It is not yet known who will replace her as Miss England.
