Fort Hood Shooting Leaves Twelve Dead & Up To 31 Injured: Muslim Shooter Major Malik Nadal Hasan

Investigators say at least 12 people have been killed and 31 others wounded after a soldier, a Major of Arab decent that was identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan , went on a killing rampage at Fort Hood.  There are reportedly two other suspects being held, all three were U.S. soldiers. How did a terrorist infiltrate the U.S. Army?  While the FBI is saying this isn’t a terrorist attack, it certainly seems like one!  The soldier, a Major of Arab decent was identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan, was killed on site after opening fire with two handguns at the massive Fort Hood complex in Killeen, Texas.

A defense official speaking anonymously to the AP says Hasan was a mental health professional — an Army psychologist or psychiatrist.

Major Hasan was a convert to Islam and originally from Virginia. He was reportedly scheduled to deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan and was unhappy about it.

Two other soldiers are being held as suspects as well following the shooting in the Fort Hood Soldier Readiness Center. This center handles administrative details for the army. The two other soldiers are being held at a building nearby.

Fort Hood is currently in lockdown mode.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks reported that the first shooting began at about 1:30pm at a Soldier Readiness Center.

The shooting at the Soldier Readiness Center before a graduation ceremony was about to begin.

He went on: “I had a man on the scene, who is my regional director and former chaplin at Fort Hood, waiting to go to a graduation ceremony.

“A soldier came running up to him saying, ’sir, don’t go over there. Somebody is shooting over there’.

“When the soldier ran by him, he saw the soldier didn’t know it, but he was wounded.

“So, he went into the building and they stopped him, because he had been shot. He heard small arms and some rifle fire while he was there.”

Army personnel told Fox News they were not sure if the victims were civilians or military personnel.

“WE’VE HAD A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY HERE AT FT. HOOD TODAY. THE SITUATION IS ONGOING ALTHOUGH I THINK WE HAVE POSITIVE NEWS THAT WE’RE VERY CLOSE TO A RESOLUTION.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1330 HOURS TODAY, A SOLDIER ENTERED WHAT WE CALL THE “SOLDIER READINESS FACILITY” WHERE SOLDIERS WHO ARE PREPARING TO DEPLOY GO FOR LAST MINUTE MEDICAL CHECK UPS AND DENTAL TREATMENT…

SHOOTER OPENED FIRED AND ESSENTIALLY DUE TO THE QUICK RESPONSE OF THE POLICE FORCES WAS KILLED.

THE SHOOTER WAS KILLED. HE WAS A SOLDIER. WE SINCE THEN HAVE APPREHENDED TWO ADDITIONAL SOLDIERS 6 THAT ARE SUSPECTS.

THE CHALLENGE THAT WE FACE NOW IS THAT THE INSTALLATION IS LOCKED DOWN AND IN MANY CASES A LOT OF OUR FACILITIES, A LOT OF OUR FAMILIES, CHILDREN ARE LOCKED IN FACILITIES.

IT IS LOCKED DOWN RIGHT NOW AND WE WILL AIR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION IN TERMS OF MAKING SURE THAT THE SITUATION IS STABILIZED.

THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED WERE U.S. SOLDIERS.

IT’S A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY. IT’S STUNNING. AND AS I SAY, AS I’VE GONE AROUND TO THE HOSPITAL HERE, AS I’VE BEEN AT THE SCENE, SOLDIERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS AND MANY OF THE GREAT CIVILIANS THAT WORK HERE ARE DEVASTATED.”
