Singer Morrissey Discharged From Hospital After Collapsing Onstage

Morrissey was discharged from a hospital in Swindon, England after he collapsed onstage during his show on Saturday night. Read more on Morrissey’s condition below.

Morrissey was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed onstage and was unconscious with breathing problems during his concert.

The former lead singer of The Smiths slumped down in front of his many worried fans after singing the opening song at his show. He was then taken offstage by his bandmembers as medics were called. Morrissey was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

An emergency spokesperson said, “Just after 9pm we got a call to a 50-year-old man who was reported to be suffering from respiratory problems and was unconscious. We sent a paramedic in a doubled-crewed ambulance. When they arrived they found a conscious patient who was not feeling well at all.”

Morrissey had already canceled quite a few shows of his world tour earlier this year due to a mystery illness.

Sources close to the singer said, “He only recently finished touring and has gone straight back out on the road. Morrissey loves performing live but everyone around him is concerned that he might be taking on too much.”

Today his spokesperson said, “Morrissey became unwell last night. He was admitted overnight as a precautionary measure. He was seen this morning and was much improved and has now been discharged.”

A statement on his official website reads: “Morrissey is in stable condition after his collapse in Swindon Saturday night. Thanks go out to all his well wishers, more information will be posted as soon as it is available.”
