Posted on October 24, 2009
Elton John had a sold out concert in London that he had to cancel on short notice due to falling ill with influenza. Read more on Elton’s canceled show below.
Elton John was due to play in England on Friday night to more than 13,000 fans in Sheffield Arena. Elton had to cancel hours before he was supposed to take the stage for his Red Piano show.
Elton’s spokesman said the singer had to cancel because of a serious bout with the flu. His rep said, “Elton is terribly disappointed that he is unable to perform tonight’s Red Piano show for the people of Sheffield. He has always enjoyed a tremendous reaction from the audiences every time he has performed at the Arena.”
The canceled show will be rescheduled soon and Elton’s other concerts next week will not be affected.
