Rumors are swirling that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were secretly married!

Nicole and Joel just welcomed their second child Sparrow James Midnight in September. He joined their daughter Harlow, 1.

Nicole has said she wanted to marry one day but told Larry King earlier this year, “Of course when I was a little girl, you dream about getting married, and that is definitely a dream of mine one day”.

Friends of Nicole’s say that after the tragic death of her former fiance, Adam Goldberg (DJ AM), that seemed to give Richie a change of heart.  to the star says that the tragic death of her former fiance Adam Goldberg, aka DJ AM, in August prompted a change of heart.

“Nicole has never been in a rush to get married to Joel. She’s so happy with him and their little family that she didn’t feel the need to change the way things were between them. But when Adam died, she freaked out. She realized life is fragile and short. She doesn’t want to have any regrets at all, and she does want to be Joel’s wife.”

Reps for the couple have not commented.
