Oscar-Winning Screenwriter Roger Avary Sentenced To Year In Jail

The Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Pulp Fiction”, Roger Avary, has been sentenced to a year in jail for causing a fatal car accident in Southern California. Read more on Roger Avary’s sentencing below.
Roger Avary was sentenced on Tuesday to a year in jail and five years of probation.
Avary pleaded guilty in August to gross vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving for the car accident in 2008 that killed a passenger, Avery’s pal Andreas Zini. Police report that Roger Avary was going more than 100 mph when he crashed into a telephone pole.
Avary’s wife was thrown from the vehicle and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Avary and Quentin Tarantino share the 1995 Academy Award for writing “Pulp Fiction.” Avary also co-wrote the screenplay for the movie “Beowulf.”
