Lucy Vodden Dies Of Lupus At 46 (Photos)

The real life Lucy (Lucy Vodden) from the Beatles’ song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” has died after her long fight with lupus.
St. Thomas’ Hospital in London has announced that Lucy Vodden, 46, has died. Vodden battled lupus for many years.
Lucy Vodden came to the attention of John Lennon when his son Julian came home from school one day with a drawing that he said was “Lucy in the sky with diamonds.”
John Lennon turned the idea into a psychedelic masterpiece long associated with LSD use.
Julian Lennon had reached out to LucyVodden in recent years while she was suffering with her disease.
Lupus is a chronic illness during which the immune system attacks the body’s own tissue.
