No Charges Filed Against Merriman: Tila Tequila Says She’s Allergic To Alcohol

Reality star Tila Tequila has gone on Twitter to tweet about her night with Shawne Merriman, the San Diego Chargers linebacker accused of choking her and preventing her from leaving his home. Read what Tila Tequila had to say below!

Tila Tequila wrote on her Twitter:

“I am only 93 pounds and 4 ft 11”” she Tweeted.

“I am allergic to alcohol. It has been publicly known for years. That is how I got the name Tila “Tequila” cuz the irony. I can’t drink.,” was another message.

“I have just gotten back home safely to Los Angeles. Thank you for all your love and prayers, and I appreciate everyone’s support.”

Tequila is best known for her former MTV series A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila. Tila and Shawne were seen at a San Diego, CA nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning. After leaving the club, then went to his home in nearby Poway.

Tila called 911 at 3:45 AM and said Merriman was choking her and would not let her leave his house. Police came and arrested Merriman and took Tequila to a hospital where she was checked out and released.

It appears as if Tila wanted to give her side of the story before Merriman spoke publicly.

In a statement to FoxSports.com, Merriman said:

“At the time I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false accusations.”
