Chris Brown To Be Sentenced Today For Assault On Rihanna
Posted on August 25, 2009
Rapper Chris Brown will be sentenced today for the felony assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Read more on Chris Brown’s sentencing below.
Prosecutors stated that Chris Brown’s sentencing has been moved up at the request of Brown’s lawyer. Brown was scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, but the hearing has been rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
Chris Brown is reportedly expected to receive about five years of probation and six months of community labor.
Earlier this month Brown’s sentencing was delayed after a judge learned that authorities in Virginia, where Brown requested to serve probation, hadn’t yet agreed to a probation plan.
Chris Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in June. Chris was arrested after the assault just hours before February’s Grammys.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, said Tuesday that he did not expect there to be any more problems with the sentencing.
