Robert Novak Dies of Brain Cancer At Age 78

The legendary syndicated columnist and co-host of CNN’s Crossfire, Robert Novak, died at his home in Washington of brain cancer. Novak was 78. Read more on Bob Novak’s death below.

Novak was nicknamed “the Prince of Darkness” for his extremely conservative views of political commentary, started working for the Associated Press in Washington in 1957, then went on to The Wall Street Journal. In 1962, Novak formed a partnership with Rowland Evans, which led to the CNN co-hosting the political talk show, Evans and Novak. These cable shows led to Crossfire and The Capital Gang programs.

Novak actually became the story himself in 2003 when he he revealed the name of C.I.A. officer Valerie Plame, which led to a lengthy criminal investigation.
