New York artist Dash Snow has died of a drug overdose on Monday night at Lafayette House, a hotel in Lower Manhattan. Dash Snow was only 27 years old. Read more on Dash Snow’s death and see video of his art below.
Dash Snow’s grandmother, art collector Christophe de Menil, confirmed the death of Dash Snow of a drug overdose. Many speculate Dash Snow likely died of a heroin overdose.
Dash Snow gained fame after his feature in an article called “Warhol’s Children” that appeared in New York magazine in 2007. Dash worked in video and photography and also had a unique collage style.
Snow has exhibited in galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles and Europe and is currently featured in “Abstract America: New Painting and Sculpture” at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
Dash Snow had been in drug rehab in March and had been off drugs until very recently.
