7 Year-Old Boy Steals Car To Avoid Church (VIDEO)
A 7 year-old boy led Utah police on a low-speed car chase in an attempt to avoid having to go to church. Read more and see video of the 7 year old driver caught on the police dashcam.
Dispatchers received calls reporting a young boy was driving recklessly on Sunday morning. Weber Country Sheriff’s Captain, Klint Anderson, said an eye-witness saw the boy drive right through a stop sign.
Two deputies caught up to the boy and tried to stop the Dodge Intrepid approximately 45 miles north of Salt Lake City. The 7 year-old had the car up to speeds of 40 mph before he finally stopped in a driveway and hid inside a home.
The boy’s father later confronted him, and the 7 year-old said he simply didn’t want to go to church.
The boy will not be prosecuted as he is too young and no citations were issued. But police asked the father to make certain his keys were not accessible to the children.
