Mackenzie Phillips Says Her Father “The Mamas & The Papas” Singer John Phillips Molested Her

Former “One Day at a Time” actress Mackenzie Phillips says her father John Phillips molested her. Read more on this story below.
The former child actress, now 49, will release a tell-all memoir that will hit bookstores next March.
“I’ve always known I would write this book,” Mackenzie stated in a press release.
The publisher would not reveal the secret Mackenzie is writing about but did state she would reveal a “shocking, lifelong secret.”
The Mamas and The Papas singer, John Phillips, died in 2001. Mackenzie is now in a good state-of-mind to reveal the details of her painful childhood.
“She’ll reveal when the molestation first occurred, how long it lasted and how it affected her entire life.”
Mackenzie began her showbiz career at age 12 in the 1973 movie American Graffiti. She then signed on as the rebellious teen Julie Cooper on the sitcom “One Day at a Time”.
Mackenzie’s drug addictions have plagued her for almost her entire life. Her addiction led to the end of her career, drug arrests, rehab, and two nearly-fatal drug overdoses.
“In addition to the molestation disclosure,the book will certainly cover a wild life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll,” added the source.
“She’ll write about getting high with her father and rolling joints for the Rolling Stones.
“It’ll be an eye-opening memoir – and uplifting in the sense that Mackenzie has finally found redemption and peace in her life.”
Mackenzie’s now untitled memoir will hit bookstores in March.
