“Orphan” Movie Angers Adoption Community (Movie Trailer Video)

The adoption community is readying itself to protest the new horror movie “Orphan”. They worry it could fuel negative attitudes about adoption. Read more on this story below.
The Adoption Institute had this to say about the movie Orphan:
“We are concerned that in addition to its intended entertainment value, this film will have the unintended effect of skewing public opinion against children awaiting families both in the United States and abroad,” says a letter from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute to Warner Bros.
Adoption advocates are even considering boycotting the movie that is about a childless couple that adopts an evil little girl.
Warner Brothers has been considering adding a pro-adoption message to follow the film when it comes out on DVD.
Jeff Medefind of the Christian Alliance for Orphans believes that because the film “seems to suggest that orphans are damaged goods, and that adoption could destroy a life,” he is urging the studio to add a favorable adoption message at the end of theater-screened films and donate a portion of box office receipts to aid orphans.
Does anyone else find this ridiculous? This movie looks awesome!

This film has a stupid twist. Hurrendous. The girls 33 ffs!

I find it a terrible movie. We have adopted 5 children and I find it very hard when people single out adopted children, as if they are second class and criminals. Our kids are wonderful children and some will do great things in life. So, I find it in poor tasts and feel they should donate money to adoption. There ae 53 million orphans in the world. More people need to adopt.
