Yes, racism exists, but not to the extent that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would make it out to be. By their standards the vast majority of the world is racist... Unless of course you happen to be black, since there is no such thing as a racist black person. I didn't hear Al Sharpton's speech at Michael Jackson's funeral because frankly (and contrary to Sharpton's belief) I think the media covered the whole ordeal in too much depth and for far too long. It was amazing how one man formerly considered despicable and accused of molesting children (and yes, we all know he did, don't lie to yourself) was all of a sudden glorified to be this great man. Sure, he made some incredible music and yes he was the King of Pop and one of the greatest entertainers of our lifetime and that will never be taken away from him. But the fact is, he was given much more media attention (maybe both positive and negative, but certainly positive) after his death than did any other celebrity of my lifetime that I can remember. I stopped watching the news for an entire month because that's all they showed. And why? Because we're all racist, especially the media? No, because the media is an industry that is driven by profits. Yes, the almighty dollar, not racism or any other factor that Al Sharpton or any other artificial civil rights leader would claim. Gone are the days of true civil rights leaders who actually believed the words that were coming out of their mouths. Those who fought true injustice and were prepared to sacrifice to achieve the greater good, not only of "their people" but for the human race. Yes, gone are the days of the Martin Luther King, Jrs., the Ghandis, the Medgar Evars and countless others too many to name that truly fought racism. And here are the days when these faux civil rights leaders like Al Sharpton only prolong and stoke the fire of racism that is trying to die out with every inflammatory comment that comes out of his mouth. Do I think Al Sharpton is a racist? Possibly, but that's not my place to judge, most certainly he is prejudice. And Martin Luther King, Jr. Would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what the "honorable reverend" Al Sharpton was doing to continue to divide this country. It's time to move on, past race relations and focus on more important issues that our country and world faces, because alone we can only do so much, but together we can make a world of difference. If the Revs didnt keep racism going they would be out a job.I’m so tired of of blacks being able to say things like, Black College Fund,All Black Hair Salon,Product for Black people,Products for colored people,then when Michael Jackson passed it was he was one of us, our people, our kind etc etc etc. When you see Flooding,Tornadoes,Hurricanes etc. in Areas of Black people who is usually their to help, (NOT THE REVS) look around in the pictures and you will see mostly white people.So who is Racist!!!
